Self-retracting lifelines lock instantly when a fall starts. Their internal brake and line need to work every time, and most manufacturers require periodic factory servicing on top of routine inspection.

We inspect each SRL for line condition, retraction and locking, check its service history, and flag units that are due back to the manufacturer.

FAQs

Common questions

Do SRLs need servicing as well as inspection?

Many manufacturers require factory servicing at set intervals. We record those dates and flag units that are due.

How do you test the locking?

By pulling the line out sharply to check it locks and then retracts smoothly, as the manufacturer describes.

Do you inspect large rescue SRLs?

Yes, including combined fall arrest and rescue units.
